Ian Perkins

Creative, media addict, cider drinker.

Who’s this guy?

I am a jack of all trades for Fiesta Studios Ltd. I maintain websites, creating content for social media, leading marketing, Google analytics, SEO, product photography and catalogues. A utility man, if you will.

I’m a graduate with a BA (Hons) First Class degree in Journalism.

I graduated from Falmouth University’s PTC accredited course and I am. I have experience in match reporting, sub-editing, news writing, layouts, advertising, marketing, SEO, and editorial.

I am confident using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and I have a basic knowledge of Illustrator. I’ve used Shopify, CoreCommerce and WordPress. I am an avid Twitter user and constantly looking for the next social media trend.

I worked in admin and stock control for a retailer, and worked for Thomson Reuters on the sports desk. I’ve helped out a football zine, Stand: For Football, with their website and social media presence, too.

The most rewarding and probably worthwhile thing I have done is been at the front of two magazine launches. The first one, Flex, was a student magazine launch in Falmouth that is circulated on the campus and around town. In May, when I moved back to Somerset, two friends and I decided to start a magazine in Yeovil called Y. It’s a lifestyle magazine, solely focused on local business, people and events. It is all about the content rather than a slave for advertising, something that I feel strongly about. I crave to be part of a successful magazine launch.

I’ve also had brief spells of work experience at Reuters News Agency, FourFourTwo, The Western Gazette, and Yeovil Town Football Club as well as five soul-destroying years at PC World.

In my own time you’ll find me watching and playing football, reading about and watching wrestling, scrolling through twitter. I get Snapchat but I don’t use Snapchat. I’m the guy who watches everything…within reason. I get fully-engrossed by a good documentary. I keep my finger on the pulse with pop-culture, despite despising certain aspects of it. I’m a zinester and love the aspects of the underground and alternative media. I read magazines and articles and keep cutouts of the ones I think are cool. I inherit and collect vinyl and I’m a gig-goer.
